Price transparency
U.S. hospitals must post pricing information online (effective Jan 1, 2021). Under the No Surprises Act (effective Jan 1, 2022), providers usually must give uninsured or self-pay patients a good faith estimate of expected charges when care is scheduled in advance or when the patient requests one.
